I want to like Rahm Emmanuel. Obama seems to be a fan; he's certainly prettier to look at than any previous presidential Chiefs of Staff; and he's a straight talker whose words don't sound like they were run by the Office of the Press Secretary every time they come out of his mouth.

But his verbal filter could use some work. Rahm recently used the R-word for all to hear, in response to some Democratic intraparty bickering. But unlike Madonna, I'm imagining him using it in a pretty malicious, spit-coming-out-of-his-mouth sort of way.

His exact words to describe a group of liberal Democrats who were planning on airing attack ads against conservative Democrats who weren't in support of Obama's plans to reform health care? "Fucking retarded." I have no doubt that he would never use "pussy" or "Chinky" in a similar manner.

I bet Michelle would take some Pure & Gentle to their mouths if she ever heard Malia and Sasha using that kind of language.
